Emily Quetone Khan is an Education & Learning Specialist, joining the CPS team as the first Director of Education Intervention Programs. Emily received her Bachelor's in Native American Studies, French and Education from Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH. She also received her K-12 Ed Specialist teaching credential and Master’s in Special Education, with an emphasis on Reading Instruction and Curriculum Development from San Francisco State University in California. While in San Francisco, Emily spent several years as a Resource Specialist, Inclusion Specialist and Special Day Class teacher in public schools around the Bay Area. She worked as a classroom teacher and Resource & Curriculum Specialist at The Arbor Bay School in San Carlos, CA, a non-public, nonprofit school serving students with mild to moderate language-based learning differences. She was also a Learning Specialist and Leadership Fellow at The Katherine Delmar Burke School, an independent girls school in San Francisco, a Special Education Seminar Leader for The New Teacher Project/Oakland Practitioner Teacher's Program, and most recently spent time as a Clinical Educator at Gulliver Schools in South Florida. Emily has expertise in many multi-sensory reading, writing and math instructional programs, with assistive technology, as well as in developmentally appropriate program design and curriculum implementation. She has a long history of collaborating closely with Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Educational Therapists, and Pediatric Neuropsychologists in service of students and families. She has a great deal of experience in supporting and advising teachers on behavior, curriculum, instruction, building executive functioning and social-emotional skills, and meeting each individual student's needs. Emily is the mother of two children and is passionate about creating safe and inclusive environments where students and adults can bring their whole selves forward in service of their unique potential.
